Summary : Several Pandaapp fans keep regarding the unlock baseband 04.11.08 on our facebook, now finally some news from UltraSn0w's developer. Recently hacker Sherif Hashim one of the iPhone Dev-Team, has annouced the progress on the unlock work.
So far only the iphone 4 on baseband 1.59.00 can be unlocked by UltraSn0w developed by iPhone Dev-Team, and the rest remain untouched. Recently hacker Sherif Hashim one of the iPhone Dev-Team, has annouced the progress on the unlock work.
The iPhone Dev-Team have been working on the unlock for a very long time now, but haven’t been giving out any updates on their progress. Recently, however, Sherif Hashim of iPhone Dev-Team fame, sent out a tweet that somehow also gives us some update on the unlock status of baseband 2.10.04 – 4.11.08.
"It would be greatly appreciated NOT to post regarding iOS related issues/unlock/…etc , and for those whom are still concerned YES i am still working on the VERY TIGHT bbfw 2.10-4.11 (i m taking that personal) after my -October 2010 found- vulnerabilities failed to achieve a payload injection vector despite the huge continuous trials and work done by the legendary @MuscleNerd, the great everlasting iOS hacker and guru, keeping in mind that there was a 10 months of halt due to the Egyptian revolution :) , what i meant to say is that any new achievements -IF EVER POSSIBLE- regarding this issue will be notified either by this respectable iOS hacker or by the humble myself, NO NEED to ask because it won’t make it achievable/earlier/easier."
Users who have a locked iPhone with baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01, 4.10.01 and 4.11.08 cannot software unlock it using They can only use a Gevey Turbo SIM; as it is still working on basebands up to 4.10.01. Users who upgraded to iOS 5 without saving SHSH blobs cannot unlock their iPhone even with a Gevey SIM, because that doesn’t work on baseband 4.11.08.
Now, none of this means that any progress has been made or anything new has been tried. It just says that Dr. Sherif hasn’t given up yet and will continue working on the unlock till he gets somewhere. So, don’t get your hopes up too high. However, remember we covered another developer Hamzah Akram's story? This guy announced to release an unlock solution for baseband 4.11.08 soon. We hope things would going well on this side.
