Apple has already made several iBooks Textbooks available to download from iTunes. Each textbook costs $14.99 and offers a free sample to download.
The textbooks are from Pearson Education, Wilson Digital, and McGraw-Hill Education. They cover subjects such as Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and more.
These publishers are responsible for 90% of the textbooks available today. Apple calls iBooks 2 “the next chapter in learning.” DK Publishing is also partnering with Apple to bring children’s books to the iPad. The E.O. Wilson foundation is also on board. All of these titles can be accessed via the new textbooks category in the iBookstore. These types of textbooks can be created with the free iBooks Author app.
