An aluminum deltabox frame with extra long aluminum truss-type swingarm improves rigidity and balance of motorcycle. Suspension features a fully adjustable inverted fork with independent left-right damping, and link monocross rear suspension. Improvement in braking performance is given by 6-piston caliper dual front rotor with Brembo master cylinder and single piston Nissin rear caliper. In the 2011 Yamaha YZF R1 have exhaust system a 4-2-1-2 titanium with dual shorty, large diameter, triangle shaped, under seat muffler.
